Sperm-blocking contraceptive hope

Researchers are studying a chemical that blocks the production of sperm, but only temporarily, so you can be fertile again the next day, according to the BBC.
All my snarky inner monologue aside, I'm delighted to find that yet another possibility for male birth control is in the works. And it's one that does not rely on hormones, which appeals to me because despite having been on the pill for 17 years, I'm not comfortable with the idea of everyone taking additional hormones for years and years. In my case it's a lesser evil; but how cool if we can find another reliable option.
